Adrienne will reflect on what she continues to learn about her own mother’s difficult journey out of the South in the 1940’s and 50’s. Determination, grit, faith, music, and the support of other migrants helped stay the course. Happy Mother’s Day!
Speaker Bio:
For over 40 years, Adrienne Williams has shared her love of African American folklore, storytelling, song, and drumming. She has woven these passions into her career work in special education, child welfare, juvenile justice, and girls’ services on local and national bases. Adrienne is a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleboro. She is a Founding Member of the Unitarian Universalist Massachusetts Action Network. Post retirement she joined the cast of “We Did It For You! Women’s Journey Through History” by Dr. Thea Iberall. Wediditforyou.org
