At First Parish, we recognize the interconnections between healthy food, healthy people, and a healthy planet. One way that we act on this knowledge is by hosting a Fair Trade Marketplace the first Sunday of each month, starting November 7, 2021.
The Fair Trade Market currently offers a selection of fairly traded, organically grown, coffee, tea, chocolate, nuts, dried fruit, and more from Equal Exchange. Equal Exchange is a worker-owned cooperative whose mission is tied to building a just food system where consumers have choices and feel connected to farmers in the supply chains. Equal Exchange buys directly from small farmer cooperatives and sells wholesale, in small cases, to communities of faith around the United States.
A portion of the funds raised each month will support our Mainspring House lunch program which provides lunches to people in our community experiencing homelessness or food insecurity.
